From office administrator to frontend pro – meet Johannes, Scrum Master and Frontend Developer.

How did you come to kasasi?

I joined kasasi straight after finishing my Business Informatics degree in April 2022 – a friend who already worked here pointed me to the open position. I've been in the frontend area ever since. In 2024, due to an internal restructuring, I also took on the role of Scrum Master.

What are your responsibilities as a Software Developer?

As a frontend developer, I work at the intersection of design and technology. We ensure an intuitive, functional, and visually appealing user experience. Core tasks include: • implementing designs • we turn design drafts into living user interfaces; responsiveness • ensuring the application works perfectly and looks great on any device; and data presentation • making sure data from the backend is displayed correctly on the front end. We work closely with our Product Owner and the UI/UX department. If there's no existing solution for a requirement, we get together as a team and develop one collaboratively.

From office administrator to frontend pro – how did that happen?

Before my studies, I completed an apprenticeship as an office administrator. During that time, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to do something different long-term. Technology and computer science had always fascinated me, so it was an easy decision to steer my career in that direction. My degree strengthened that passion even further – a step I have never regretted.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

In the morning I usually cycle to the office. First I check my emails and Teams messages and review the automated tests that ran overnight. If something didn't work, I analyse the causes and fix the issue directly if possible, or initiate the next steps. Since we work according to Scrum principles, there's a daily stand-up meeting and a Scrum of Scrums every day. I like to spend my lunch break with colleagues – and while plenty of options are available nearby, we often end up at our favourite Asian restaurant, going for number 42 extra spicy.

What makes kasasi special for you as an employer?

Simple: the people. Working here is more than just a job. We have a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and it's a pleasure to work in a team like this.

What would you like to say to applicants?

If you enjoy working in a great team where camaraderie and humour are valued, you're in exactly the right place! It's not just about work – it's about the people. That really makes the difference.
